Job summary

ICAEW is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join its Group Internal Audit team in a role that blends traditional assurance with modern data analytics and AI-driven techniques. You will manage diverse audits across systems, projects and operations, applying data-led insights to validate controls and drive improvements.

Qualifications

• You will be an experienced internal audit, risk or assurance professional with exposure to operational, financial, systems or project auditing.
• You will ideally possess a relevant professional qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIIA or IIA.
• You will demonstrate practical experience of using data analysis and analytics in audit or assurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide robust, independent assurance over process effectiveness, risk management and internal controls.
• Own a portfolio of risk-based audits from planning to fieldwork, reporting and recommendations.
• Utilize AI, data analytics and large datasets to enhance audit quality and coverage.
• Identify opportunities to improve business processes and control frameworks.
• Translate data findings into clear messages for non-technical stakeholders.
• Engage with senior management and directors to influence positive change.
