Job summary

Expleo Group in Belfast seeks an experienced Interconnect and Cable Architect to lead the design of interconnect and cabling architectures for defence projects. You will mentor colleagues and work within the Electronics team to optimise designs through analyses, modelling and simulation to meet customer requirements.

The role emphasizes trade studies, design verification, and compliance with regulatory standards while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary engineering team on cutting-edge

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline; a lower qualification is acceptable if accompanied by significant demonstrable experience.
• Experience in the design of interconnect and cabling, with awareness of current, screening, signal types, volt drop, EMC and environmental constraints.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of interconnect and cabling architectures
• Design cable assemblies based on electrical constraints like current, screening, signal types, volt drop, EMC and environmental requirements
• Lead connector selection and manage evaluation activities
• Lead creation of cable schematics and drawings
• Support integration and testing of cable assemblies
• Create cable specifications, development and verification plans
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Contribute to bid and estimating activities
