Placements24 is seeking a Senior Instrumentation Technician for an on-site role in Randburg. The candidate will maintain, calibrate, and repair instrumentation and control systems essential for safe and efficient energy facilities.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial instrumentation, with strong calibration skills and a solid understanding of PLC/DCS systems. On-site work and adherence to safety protocols are required.

Qualifications

• Qualified Instrumentation Technician with a relevant Trade Test or equivalent (e.g., N3/S4).
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in industrial instrumentation and control environments.
• Proven experience with instruments (transmitters, valves, analyzers) and control systems (PLC, DCS).
• Strong calibration and metrology knowledge; able to read P&IDs and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, calibrate, and repair industrial instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level).
• Troubleshoot faults in instrumentation and control systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA).
• Perform loop checks and diagnostics to ensure accurate control and safety.
• Maintain records of maintenance, calibration results, and equipment history.
• Read and interpret drawings and manuals related to instrumentation and control systems.
• Assist in testing and commissioning of new instrumentation and control equipment.
• Provide technical support to other technicians and operations staff.
• Participate in root-cause analysis for instrumentation failures.

About the Role Our client, a prominent operator in the energy infrastructure sector, is actively seeking a skilled Senior Instrumentation Technician to join their team based in **Randburg, Gauteng**. This role is critical for the maintenance, calibration, and repair of sophisticated instrumentation and control systems essential for the safe and efficient operation of our energy facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of measurement devices, control loops, and safety instrumented systems (SIS). Key Responsibilities
