Qualifications

Job description

Hands-on multi-disciplined technical role within the IT infrastructure team, supporting the Head of Infrastructure Services and project managers in delivering robust, performant, resilient, and recoverable infrastructure platforms; Data centre and Azure Cloud. Supporting the technical development of the internal infrastructure team, maintaining infrastructure best practices and standards, and ensuring all platforms are secure and meet legislative compliance requirements.

up to £50,000 depending on experience

Working Hours:

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, covering hours 08:00 to 17:30 on a rolling rota basis

What you will be doing:
  1. A technical lead within the infrastructure team, supporting the promotion of technical excellence and leading knowledge transfer of new solutions.
  2. Bring broad knowledge of traditional and cloud infrastructure technologies, processes, and best practices; stay updated on technological enhancements beneficial to the business.
  3. Support project, development, DevOps, and SecOps teams for deployments, management, and maintenance.
  4. Develop, test, and manage disaster recovery plans, ensuring operational resilience.
  5. Provide expertise and support within the incident response process.
  6. Lead technical evaluation and deployment of infrastructure products.
  7. Contribute to technical design and industry best practices.
  8. Collaborate with the Infrastructure Team Manager to deliver cost-effective solutions aligned with IT strategy.
  9. Work with SecOps engineers to remediate vulnerabilities.
What we are looking for:
  • Minimum 4 years' infrastructure experience, with at least 1 year in a senior or support lead role.
  • Experience with network, server, storage, and security technologies.
  • Mentoring or team supervision experience is advantageous.
  • Practical experience with cloud infrastructure, especially Microsoft Azure.
  • Familiarity with Office 365, security, and hybrid Exchange environments.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools like PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform.
  • Ability to develop and document technical designs.
  • Proactive troubleshooting skills and ability to communicate IT issues to non-IT stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes.
  • Experience in network technologies, cloud computing, IaC, security, Windows Server, Linux, Kubernetes, DevOps, and virtualization.
