Job summary

Coventry Building Society Group seeks a Subject Matter Expert to provide strategic IT and business services leadership for a specialist area. You will lead transitions, governance, and documentation to align with IT architectural strategy and ensure production incidents are resolved efficiently.

Based in Coventry with a team-led hybrid approach (1–2 days on site), you will mentor colleagues, coordinate with Architecture, Development, and Support teams, and identify opportunities for improvement

Responsibilities

• Oversee transitions and ongoing support to meet business requirements and IT architectural strategy.
• Governance of technical standards documentation to maintain a stable environment.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and resolve problems to meet SLAs.
• Support Architecture, Development and Support teams to implement and support CBS solutions.
• Coach, mentor, plan, supervise, and train team members to drive improvements.

Job description

You'll be regarded as the Subject Matter Expert (SME), and responsible for providing strategic expertise to ensure effective management of the technical and business services for your specialist area. You'll be accountable for the transition and ongoing support of the relevant solutions at CBS to meet business requirements and IT architectural strategy. Remit includes being responsible for the creation, quality, and governance of technical and standards documentation to maintain a stable and consistent environment. You'll provide a high level of technical knowledge to complete the troubleshooting of and resolution to production incidents or problems to meet our operational IT needs and ensure business as usual services are maintained within agreed SLA's. The role also includes the provision of assistance to the Architecture, Development, and Support teams, to implement and support solutions into the CBS estate. You'll look for improvement opportunities which will involve coaching, mentoring, planning, supervising, supporting, and training of your team members. We operate on a team led hybrid approach, with one to two days per week on site. Role requires flexibility to travel to other sites for key meetings and collaborative working subject to business demand. Role is based in Coventry.
