Job summary

SYSTRA UK & Ireland is seeking a Principal Architect for our UK offices, including Birmingham, to lead architectural designs across rail, airports, energy, and masterplanning. You will direct in-house teams, coordinate with partners, and ensure delivery from concept through to site support.

You will drive technical excellence, produce drawings and reports, and engage with stakeholders to meet safety and engineering standards while delivering on complex international projects.

Qualifications

• Chartered Architect with ARB & RIBA registration.
• Experience delivering complex infrastructure projects, ideally in Transportation.
• Proficient BIM modelling using Revit.
• Proficient in Photoshop/InDesign for visual presentations.
• Excellent report and case study writing skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong design principles and knowledge of standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong, proactive project leadership.
• Produce designs, drawings, reports, schedules and calculations.
• Coordinate allocated tasks and staff.
• Direct in-house designers and partner consultants.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline teams for built environment design.
• Manage design input from partners and subcontractors.
• Take projects from conception to completion including feasibility studies and detailed design.
• Assist in managing resources to meet targets and budgets.
• Provide technical support to site personnel.
• Review tender opportunities and prepare deliverables, cost estimates and schedules.
