Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is inviting applications for a Lead Infection Prevention and Control Nurse to lead the IPC strategy across a designated sector. You will work with the Corporate Nursing Team to drive quality improvements and ensure adherence to IPC standards.

The role requires extensive experience in healthcare-associated infection, strong leadership, and the ability to influence across professional boundaries.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Diploma in Infection Prevention and Control.
• Master's degree is desirable.
• Extensive experience of healthcare-associated infection (HAI).
• Evidence of continuing professional and clinical development within the sphere of HAI.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Skilled leadership, including negotiating and influencing skills.
• High level of competence in all aspects of Information Technology.
• Teaching experience, including experience within a higher academic institution.
• Ability to work autonomously and make independent clinical judgements and decisions.
• Ability to prioritise concurrent and competing issues.
• Experience of working effectively across organisational and professional boundaries

Responsibilities

• Lead on prevention and control of infection within a designated geographical sector.
• Provide professional and clinical expertise in IPC requirements as part of governance.
• Develop and deliver IPC education programmes for staff across services.
