Job summary

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Infection Prevention and Control Nurse (Band 7) to join a large, specialist team. You will provide expert advice, leadership and assurance across a designated Clinical Board, acting as IPC Business Partner to improve patient safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
• Degree or Masters in Nursing or equivalent postgraduate study.
• Extensive post-registration leadership experience in healthcare.
• Infection prevention knowledge and leading change/projects.
• Auditing, research experience and continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Act as Infection Prevention and Control Business Partner for a Clinical Board.
• Lead on the implementation and assurance of IPC standards, policies and programmes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to investigate incidents and share learning.
• Deliver IPC education and professional support to clinical teams.
• Undertake audit, surveillance and data analysis to inform improvements.
