Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate Director/Associate to lead the rapid growth of its Hydromorphology Service Line, focusing on watercourse Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and supporting Water Framework Directive (WFD) work. This is a senior technical/advisory role within Catchment Science, directing high-quality BNG delivery and growing WFD advisory work.

Qualifications

Degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Ecology or similar.
Professional membership (CIWEM, CIEEM, or RGS) ideally Chartered.
River Condition Assessment accreditation.

Responsibilities

Lead and review Watercourse BNG delivery and WFD compliance.
Provide senior technical support to the watercourse BNG team.
Support business planning, sales, and bid development for BNG/WFD.
Identify opportunities to expand watercourse BNG delivery pipelines.
Advise on HMMPs to secure BNG for 30 years.
Provide direction on multidisciplinary projects with WFD and BNG.
Advise on landowner engagement for off-site BNG delivery.
Develop innovative river restoration and nature-based solutions.
