Job summary

Worley in Leeds is seeking an experienced Senior Hydrologist to lead the technical delivery of hydrology, flood risk and drainage assignments, coordinating multidisciplinary inputs on nationally and internationally significant projects across energy, infrastructure and environmental sectors.

You will mentor graduates and consultants while building strong client relationships and contributing to technical and commercial proposals.

Qualifications

• Degree in Hydrology or related field is required.
• Chartered status or progress toward chartership preferred.
• Experience in consultancy or industry projects.
• Strong practical experience in hydrology, flood risk, drainage or surface water management.
• Ability to produce clear, technically defensible reports.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Commercial awareness and collaborative problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead hydrological, flood risk and drainage assessments for major development projects.
• Deliver rainfall analysis, catchment assessments and flood estimation studies.
• Prepare Flood Risk Assessments, hydrological studies and surface water drainage strategies.
• Develop, apply or oversee hydrological/hydraulic models and interpret results for teams.
• Assess climate change implications and contribute to mitigation strategies.
• Provide technical review and quality assurance for reports and calculations.
• Contribute water-related inputs to environmental assessments and permitting studies.
• Manage work packages, budgets, schedules, risks and resources with emphasis on safety and quality.
• Build trusted client relationships and contribute to proposals.
• Mentor graduates and consultants and share knowledge through networks.
