Job summary

SLR Consulting is seeking an experienced Hydrologist to join our Flood Risk and Water Environment team, delivering high-profile UK projects. The role offers seniority from Associate to Technical Director levels and flexibility for hybrid/remote working.

You will lead hydrological assessments, mentor juniors, develop methodologies, and contribute to business development while collaborating across Environmental and Earth Sciences teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive consultancy experience leading hydrological assessments for flood risk and water environment projects.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership with CIWEM/ICE or equivalent.
• Strong experience delivering hydrological assessments to support flood risk and hydraulic modelling.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery, review and QA of hydrological assessments for flood risk and water environment projects.
• Mentor and support development of junior colleagues.
• Develop and improve technical approaches, tools and methodologies.
• Prepare fee proposals and contribute to project planning and resource management.
• Build and maintain trusted client and regulator relationships.
• Support business development for flood risk and water environment services.
• Undertake desk-based work with occasional site visits across the UK.
