Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to join our Water Consultancy Division in the UK. You will work within a large team addressing groundwater modelling, water resources, and environmental assessments to deliver projects for UK and international clients.

You will provide technical leadership, develop proposals, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality outcomes and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification in hydrogeology or related discipline
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Organised with ability to prioritise workload and mentor junior staff
• Logical, pragmatic problem solving with attention to detail
• Commitment to health, safety, wellbeing and environmental issues
• Experience with quantitative groundwater assessments and understanding flow systems
• Experience analysing environmental datasets including groundwater levels and river flows
• Experience delivering projects to national regulations and guidance
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of groundwater modelling software (MODFLOW) and programming (Python) and ArcGIS/QGIS

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical advice on groundwater topics including modelling and groundwater risk assessments
• Contribute to bid and proposal writing for water resources and engineering sectors
• Analyse data using tools like MODFLOW, ArcGIS, QGIS, Python, and Excel
• Produce high-quality reports for clients
