Job summary

Arup is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Modeller to lead complex hydraulic modelling across Leeds and the North, working on infrastructure programmes with Environment Agency and NRW frameworks.

You will oversee 1D/2D modelling, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, mentor junior modellers and ensure outputs feed into economic appraisal and project design across major projects in the region.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in 1D/2D hydraulic modelling for flood risk projects.
• Proficiency with Flood Modeller, TUFLOW and InfoWorks.
• Strong knowledge of UK flood risk policy, EA standards and assurance processes.
• Experience with major frameworks (EA, NRW) and integration with appraisal/economics.
• Ability to lead technical teams and coordinate multi-disciplinary delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, calibration and assurance of hydraulic models.
• Provide technical sign-off at senior level (G6).
• Coordinate modelling work packages with internal teams and external partners.
• Mentor junior modellers and hydrologists.
• Present modelling outputs to technical and non-technical audiences and support bid activities.
