Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a Senior AC Protection and Control Lead Engineer in Glasgow with hybrid working pattern (3 days in office, 2 days at home). The role covers definition, costing and delivery of AC protection and control solutions for tender and execution projects, with detailed design and manufacturing outsourced to sub-suppliers.

Qualifications

• Experience in AC protection and control solutions.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into design concepts.
• Experience with FAT/SAT testing and installation support.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer specifications and protection schemes into conceptual design, and formulate clear requirements to sub-suppliers.
• Evaluate sub-supplier quotes based on requirements and future design.
• Continuously monitor design and manufacturing, leading the design team in dialogues with customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Review detailed protection panel design, interfaces to main components and intercommunication links.
• Ensure compatibility between functional requirements, panel design, relay configuration and FAT readiness.
• Review supplier FAT test programs and supervise FAT.
• Provide remote assistance during installation and SAT as needed.
