Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer - Control System Performance for its HVDC NPI team.

You will act as a technical advisor, lead development activities, and shape the technology roadmap for high-performance HVDC control and protection solutions. You will contribute to governance, quality improvements, and the long-term evolution of HVDC system capabilities while coordinating with leadership and external bodies.

Qualifications

Master's or PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with a focus on control systems.
Experience leading technical teams to deliver outputs to deadlines.
Experience producing high-quality requirements, design, and test specifications.
Strong experience developing control and protection algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink.
Experience conducting EMT studies for power systems.
Knowledge of VSC and LCC HVDC technology.
Deep understanding of control algorithms, software architecture, and verification.
Willingness to travel for business.

Responsibilities

Act as a technical advisor to senior leadership and engineers on HVDC control system performance.
Lead development activities within NPI programs for VSC HVDC control and protection.
Support development of HVDC control/protection algorithms roadmaps and identify areas for advancement.
Drive standardisation activities; represent GE Vernova in IEC, CIGRE, and similar bodies.
Chair gate reviews and support robust design review execution.
Assist project teams in overcoming technical challenges during tendering, delivery, and deployment.
Act as a technical authority in major quality issues and root cause analysis.
Support knowledge sharing and competence development across the organisation.
Contribute to patent evaluation and technology synergies.
