Job summary

WR HVAC in Manchester is seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator to lead pre-construction activities and own tenders from enquiry to submission and handover to the project team. The role focuses on accurate cost planning for mechanical and HVAC systems on commercial projects.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in mechanical/HVAC estimating, a background with HVAC contractors, and excellent ability to read drawings and specifications, with a proactive approach to risk and value

Qualifications

• Strong experience in mechanical / HVAC estimating.
• Background with an HVAC, air conditioning or M&E contractor.
• Confident reading drawings and specifications.
• Strong commercial awareness.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisation.
• Able to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical and HVAC estimates.
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Complete take-offs and build accurate cost plans.
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Price labour, materials, plant and specialist packages.
• Identify risks, exclusions and value-engineering opportunities.
• Produce competitive tenders and commercial proposals.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal teams.
• Support tender reviews and handover to delivery teams.
• Mentor junior estimators where required.
