Qualifications

• Proven experience in HVAC/ventilation or building services estimating.
• Strong understanding of HVAC principles, airflow, and duct sizing.
• Experience reviewing drawings, specs and tender documentation.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical estimates and tender submissions.
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Price HVAC/ventilation installations and related mechanical services.
• Obtain and analyse subcontractor quotations for AC and ventilation packages.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, engineers and project teams.
• Produce accurate take-offs and cost breakdowns.
• Assist with value engineering and alternative design proposals.
• Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings as required.
• Support handovers to delivery and operations teams.
• Manage multiple tenders and deadlines.

We’re looking for a skilled Mechanical / HVAC Estimator to join a growing team delivering ventilation and ducting projects across commercial retail environments. This role blends technical experience with commercial knowledge and ideal for someone looking to join a growing business

You’ll be responsible for producing detailed costings/ estimates for HVAC / Ventilation projects ensuring costings are profitable yet competitive. The successful candidates will work closely with experienced engineers, project teams, and trusted subcontractors on a wide range of mechanical packages.

Duties will include:

• Preparing detailed mechanical estimates and tender submissions
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
• Pricing HVAC/ Ventilation installations and associated mechanical services
• Obtaining and analysing subcontractor quotations for AC and ventilation packages
• Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, engineers, and project teams
• Producing accurate take-offs and cost breakdowns
• Assisting with value engineering and alternative design proposals
• Attending site visits and pre-tender meetings where required
• Supporting handovers to delivery and operations teams
• Managing multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously

Skills/ Qualifications

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in HVAC, ventilation, or building services engineering.
• Strong CAD capability (AutoCAD or similar)
• Solid understanding of HVAC principles, airflow, duct sizing, and system performance.
• Experience working in commercial retail environments is highly desirable.
• Demonstrable experience in Estimating
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites
