Job summary

McM Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Estimator for a permanent role working with a growing M&E contractor. You will contribute to tendering for healthcare, education, and government-funded projects, with clear opportunities for career progression as the business expands.

The role involves pricing HVAC, pipework and mechanical installations, reviewing drawings and BOMs, and delivering accurate cost estimates to support successful bids and project handover.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Mechanical Estimator or similar role in building services.
• Strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical installations.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience on healthcare, education, commercial or public sector projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for mechanical building services.
• Price HVAC, ventilation, pipework and related installations.
• Review drawings, specs and tender docs to ensure completeness.
• Produce detailed material take-offs and labour calculations.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and assist value engineering.
