Job summary

HNF Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the design, coordination and delivery of building services across projects in the Leeds area. You will balance strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness to ensure designs are compliant, cost-effective and delivered to required standards.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in mechanical or building-services engineering.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical and building-services systems.
• Commercial experience in mechanical engineering or construction.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specs.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
• Good communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design process from concept to delivery.
• Review and develop building services designs and equipment.
• Provide technical input across HVAC, plumbing, and controls.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
• Assist with cost estimation and value engineering.
• Support installation, commissioning, and handover where required.
