Job summary

Turner Lovell is recruiting for an experienced Plant Engineer to join a leading electricity transmission organisation delivering major HV/EHV infrastructure projects across the UK. The role focuses on primary plant engineering up to 400kV, providing technical oversight from design through commissioning.

The successful candidate will review third-party designs, ensure compliance with standards and support delivery across multiple HV/EHV substations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• Experience in HV/EHV primary plant engineering within transmission substations (132kV/275kV/400kV).
• Knowledge of AIS/GIS switchgear, transformers, reactors and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Review primary plant designs produced by external consultants, contractors and equipment manufacturers.
• Develop and review technical specifications, scopes of work and engineering requirements for HV/EHV substation equipment.
• Provide technical expertise across AIS/GIS switchgear, transformers, reactors and associated primary plant systems.
• Ensure designs and documentation comply with standards and project requirements.
• Provide assurance and recommendations for design approvals, deviations and queries.
• Support FAT, procurement, installation and commissioning activities.
• Identify risks and participate in design reviews and HAZID/HAZOP.
