Job summary

Arup is recruiting for a Senior Electrical Engineering role focusing on UK Great Grid Partnership projects. You will lead the design, assurance and integration of HV electrical elements, including primary plant, protection, SCADA, earthing, and interfaces with civil and construction disciplines.

This position requires senior-level experience across substations, cables, and OHL, with strong governance and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

Chartered Electrical Engineer (CEng IET) or equivalent with extensive transmission experience.
Proven leadership of multidisciplinary electrical design teams and governance.
Strong expertise across HV substations, SCADA, protection and commissioning.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership across electrical engineering for UK projects within the Great Grid Partnership.
Oversee design, assurance, and integration of electrical deliverables including substations, protection, SCADA and earthing.
Lead validation, risk management, and design transitions to ensure milestones and budget adherence.
Promote digital engineering and integrated design solutions to improve quality and efficiency.
Mentor engineers and support onboarding across bundles.
Interface with National Grid and stakeholders for design forums and governance reviews.
