Job summary

Arup is seeking a high-calibre Senior Electrical Engineer to provide strategic leadership across HV transmission projects in the UK Great Grid Partnership. You will oversee electrical design, assurance, and interfaces with civil disciplines, driving high-quality delivery and governance across major programmes.

The role requires extensive experience in substation design, protection, SCADA, and interface management, with strong stakeholder engagement at senior levels.

Qualifications

• Chartered Electrical Engineer (CEng) or equivalent with extensive transmission experience.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary electrical design teams, including design assurance and governance.
• Strong knowledge of HV substation primary plant, protection and control, SCADA, earthing and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Provide organisation-wide technical leadership across electrical engineering aspects.
• Oversee design, assurance and integration of electrical deliverables including substation design and SCADA systems.
• Lead technical governance, risk management and sign-off across complex electrical design packages.
