Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (HV Cable Design) to join our Transmission & Distribution team. You will lead HVAC/HVDC cable system design for onshore and offshore projects, ensuring integration with substations and grid networks.

The role offers a hybrid working policy, strong learning and development opportunities, and a path to senior technical leadership within our Energy unit. Degree in Electrical Engineering and cable experience are preferred.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering and exposure to transmission cable systems.
Experience in HVAC/HVDC transmission cable design for onshore and offshore projects.
Strong analytical and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

HVAC/HVDC Cable System Design from concept to implementation for onshore and offshore projects.
Collaborate with teams to integrate cables into substations and grid networks.
Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost analyses for transmission projects.
Lead FEED and interface with civil/environmental teams for consenting requirements.
Troubleshoot cable-system issues during installation and operation.
