Senior HR Business Partner – North of England, TK Maxx & Homesense

Drive business success by shaping leadership, strategy, and talent across the North of England. If you thrive on making a real impact in a fast-paced, multi-site environment, this is your opportunity to lead.

The Role

Partnering closely with the AVP Regional Operations Director, you'll influence and execute key business strategies across multiple sites in the North of England. You'll be instrumental in driving talent development, ensuring leadership excellence, and maintaining high-performing teams. The successful candidate can be based anywhere from within the surrounding areas of Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool.

Key Accountabilities

Leading HR in the Functional Area

  • Deliver sustainable business performance and maximize ROI through strong commercial expertise.
  • Stay ahead of employment laws and industry trends to ensure compliance.
  • Share responsibility for achieving business KPIs.
  • Provide leadership guidance, supporting managers across the Northern regional teams.
  • Shape and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals.

Building Leadership Capabilities

  • Champion leadership development through coaching and in-the-moment guidance.
  • Lead transformation projects that enhance culture and business performance.
  • Equip leaders with the confidence and skills to manage teams effectively.

Driving the Talent Agenda

  • Develop strategies to balance short-term needs with long-term business objectives.
  • Partner with leaders to deliver best-in-class recruitment, training, and personal development programs.
  • Identify future leaders and establish career paths for high-potential employees.

Managing Employee Relations

  • Lead investigations into complex employee relations issues, ensuring fair resolutions.
  • Provide direct support and guidance to senior leaders to uphold workplace integrity.

Delivering Key HR Projects

  • Drive major HR programs and initiatives, ensuring efficiency and strategic impact across Northern sites.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong HR leadership experience in multi-site, fast-paced environments (retail, leisure, or service industries preferred).
  • Deep understanding of country-specific employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Ability to navigate matrix organizations and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinker with an operational mindset—able to manage big-picture goals while handling details.
  • Natural leadership style with resilience and emotional intelligence.
  • Strong coaching ability to challenge perspectives and drive progress.
