Crux Product Design is seeking a Senior Human Factors Engineer to lead impactful HF programmes across the full development lifecycle in healthcare. You will work with clients and engineers to deliver insight-driven usability improvements and minimize risk in medical device development.

Qualifications

  • Degree in human factors related subject (engineering, product design, psychology).
  • 2+ years applying human factors in a regulated sector.
  • Experience applying usability techniques in medical device development.
  • Strong understanding of IEC 62366 and FDA Human Factors guidance.
  • Ability to lead user research and form study designs.
  • Excellent data analysis and report writing.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent planning and attention to detail.
  • Flexible, collaborative work ethic.
  • DBS check due to role requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full Human Factors programmes aligned with client goals.
  • Conduct desk/field research, risk assessments, formative/summative studies.
  • Generate actionable insights and design recommendations.
  • Produce high-quality reports/presentations per Crux standards.
  • Communicate with clients and internal teams to manage expectations.
  • Navigate project risks and ensure timely delivery.
  • Build relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Support proposal development and project scoping.
  • Mentor and line-manage junior team members.
  • Promote HF best practices and regulatory awareness.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of HF processes.
