Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a Leeds area speciality chemical manufacturer to recruit an experienced Health, Safety & Environment Manager. The role drives HSE strategy and continuous improvement in a high-hazard manufacturing setting, with responsibility for COMAH compliance and process safety.

You will lead HAZOP/LOPA, risk assessments and MOC, oversee ISO 45001/14001 systems, and develop emergency response and sustainability initiatives, while building strong senior stakeholder

Qualifications

• Experience in COMAH or high-hazard manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and process safety.
• Ability to influence at all levels and across functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site’s HSE strategy and continuous improvement activity.
• Ensure compliance with COMAH regulations and process safety requirements.
• Manage major accident hazard risk and maintain the site Safety Report.
• Lead HAZOP, LOPA, risk assessment and Management of Change activities.
• Drive compliance with DSEAR, COSHH, PUWER and LOLER.
• Maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
• Lead environmental compliance, permitting, emissions monitoring and sustainability initiatives.
• Develop emergency response and business continuity arrangements.
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders, regulators and operations.
