Job summary

The Thermatic Group is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to lead strategic and operational HSE across the organisation. Reporting to the CEO, you will embed HSE into business decisions, drive continual improvement, and oversee a team of HSE Advisors across multiple sites.

Key requirements include NEBOSH Diploma (or Level 6), CMIOSH status or progression, ISO 45001/14001 management, and strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and Building Safety Act 2022 for FM projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ HSE experience in facilities management or MEP services
• Proven experience leading an HSE team across multiple sites
• In-depth knowledge of UK HSE legislation and regulatory frameworks
• Experience managing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems and audits
• Experience developing HSE strategies, policies and improvement programmes
• NEBOSH Diploma or Level 6 qualification essential
• CMIOSH or working towards preferred
• Strong knowledge of MEP/building safety risks and electrical, gas, F-Gas safety
• CDM 2015 and Building Safety Act 2022 understanding for FM projects
• Experience managing subcontractor HSE performance across multi-site supply chain
• Full UK Driving Licence for site travel
• SSIP schemes and pre-qualification portals experience
• Internal Auditor certification for ISO standards

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of HSE policies and IMS across divisions
• Act as HSE lead on Senior Leadership Team and influence decisions
• Oversee incident investigations and root-cause analysis
• Manage HSE inspection and audit programmes and site visits
• Support RAMS development and review alongside project teams
• Own subcontractor HSE framework and pre-qualification checks
• Monitor and report HSE data and KPIs to CEO and Board
• Set measurable HSE targets and improve ISO accretions
• Lead environmental compliance incl. waste, hazardous waste, SECR
• Ensure equipment inspections, PPE checks and statutory tasks are completed
• Drive HSE training and audits, closing non-conformities
• Liaise with clients on HSE matters and drive continuous improvement
