Job summary

H&MV Engineering is seeking a highly skilled HSE Advisor to join our team in the West Burton area of the United Kingdom. You will ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations across turnkey HV projects and promote a culture of safety and sustainability.

You will develop policies, conduct risk assessments and audits, train staff, investigate incidents, and liaise with regulators, clients and subcontractors to maintain best-practice HSE standards on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Relevant HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH).
• Experience as HSE Advisor in construction, HV or grid projects.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Strong risk assessment, incident investigation, and training skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company's HSE policies, procedures, and programs in line with regulations and best practices.
• Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify hazards and provide mitigation recommendations.
• Collaborate with project teams to embed HSE in planning and execution.
• Perform regular site inspections and audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide training on HSE topics and PPE usage.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses and prepare detailed reports with preventive actions.
• Liaise with regulators, clients, and subcontractors on HSE matters and standards.
• Stay updated with HSE legislation and align practices with requirements.
• Monitor HSE performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Promote a positive safety culture through training and communications.
