Location: Scotland | Site-Based | Accommodation & Expenses Provided for Candidates Working Away

We are looking for an experienced HSE Advisor to join a major HVDC infrastructure project in Scotland.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery and installation of 525kV high-voltage cable systems, supporting the expansion of renewable energy and the continued development of the UK's electricity transmission network.

Working as part of a highly experienced project team, you will provide hands-on HSE support across onshore and nearshore activities, working closely with site management, installation teams, contractors and subcontractors.

The Opportunity

This is a predominantly site-based role, suited to an HSE professional who enjoys being actively involved in project delivery and maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental performance on site.

You will be a visible and proactive HSE presence, supporting the project team and ensuring safe working practices are maintained throughout construction and installation activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day HSE support and guidance across site activities.
  • Act as a visible and proactive safety presence on site.
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor HSE performance and compliance.
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Support risk assessments, HAZID/HAZOP workshops and emergency drills.
  • Review and monitor RAMS, method statements and permit-to-work requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections, safety walks and environmental checks.
  • Support HSE audits and incident and near-miss investigations.
  • Monitor compliance with UK HSE legislation and project-specific requirements.
  • Track corrective actions, HSE KPIs and reporting.
  • Work closely with Site Management, Installation teams and the wider HSE function.
About You

We are looking for an experienced HSE professional with:

  • Several years' experience as an HSE Advisor or in a similar site-based role.
  • Experience within construction, civil engineering, energy, utilities or major infrastructure.
  • Strong experience working with contractors and subcontractors.
  • A good understanding of RAMS, risk assessments, site inspections, toolbox talks and incident investigations.
  • Good knowledge of UK HSE legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills and a practical, proactive approach to safety.
  • NEBOSH or an equivalent HSE qualification.

Experience in HVDC, high-voltage, cable installation, offshore wind or marine projects would be highly advantageous.

Why Apply?

You’ll be working alongside experienced engineering, installation and HSE professionals on a project that is helping to shape the UK's future energy network.
