Job summary

Happy Raspberry Ltd in Portadown is seeking a Senior HR Officer to own the company’s HR policies, processes and contracts. This stand-alone role partners with the Senior Management Team to provide professional HR advice across the business.

The role oversees recruitment, performance management, employee relations, payroll liaison via Sage, and benefits administration. It is a permanent full-time position based in Portadown.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of HR policies, processes, and employment contracts to ensure compliance.
• Manage end-to-end recruitment including job descriptions, advertising, shortlisting, interviews and onboarding.
• Oversee performance management, appraisals, KPI setting, probation reviews and development.
• Handle employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, absences and investigations.
• Provide HR advice and guidance to managers and the Senior Management Team.
• Support learning and development, wellbeing, engagement and succession planning.

Senior HR Officer

We are working with an established manufacturing company with a strong reputation in the marketplace to recruit a Senior HR Officer. This is a permanent full-time role based in Portadown.The Senior HR Officer will take ownership of the company’s HR policies, processes, and practices, ensuring they are compliant, effective, and aligned with the needs of the business.This is a stand‑alone HR role, working closely with the Senior Management Team and providing professional HR advice and support across the business.

Senior HR Officer will be responsible for:

• Taking ownership of HR policies, procedures, employee handbook, and employment contracts, ensuring they are legally compliant and kept up to date
• Managing end-to-end recruitment, including job descriptions, advertising, agencies, shortlisting, interviews, offers, and onboarding
• Overseeing performance management, including appraisals, KPI setting, probation reviews, and employee development
• Managing employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, capability issues, and investigations
• Providing HR advice and guidance to managers and the Senior Management Team
• Supporting learning and development, employee engagement, wellbeing, and succession planning initiatives
• Acting as the HR link with payroll, maintaining accurate employee records, running weekly payroll via Sage, and resolving payroll queries
• Managing employee benefits including pensions and wellbeing schemes, while supporting employees with HR queries

What you will need to have for the Senior HR Officer role:

• Proven experience in a HR Officer, HR Advisor, HR Generalist, or similar role
• Strong working knowledge of Northern Ireland employment law, particularly contracts, policies, and employee relations
• Experience managing or supporting end-to-end recruitment processes
• Experience with performance management, appraisals, and KPI frameworks
• Strong experience handling disciplinary, grievance, absence, and capability matters
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and provide confident HR advice
• High levels of discretion, integrity, and professionalism
• Excellent written, verbal, and organisational skills
