Job summary

Butler Rose is recruiting an experienced HR Manager for a long-standing client in Ulverston. This role covers the full employee lifecycle, partnering with the senior leadership team to shape people initiatives and drive improvements.

As the sole HR professional, you will own recruitment, employee relations, policy maintenance, performance reviews and reporting. It is a full-time, office-based role with a salary up to £55,000 DOE.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience; Level 7 desirable.
• Standalone HR or broad generalist HR experience.
• Strong understanding of UK employment legislation and ER matters.
• Experience advising senior stakeholders on people issues.
• Ability to implement HR processes aligned to business objectives.
• Experience in organisational change and workforce planning.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of recruitment end-to-end from staffing to onboarding.
• Work with managers on workforce planning and talent pipelines.
• Provide expert guidance on employee relations and grievance procedures.
• Support managers with performance reviews and development planning.
• Develop HR initiatives to improve engagement, wellbeing and culture.
• Advise leadership on organisational development and people decisions.
• Maintain HR policies and compliance with employment law.
• Oversee salary benchmarking, pay reviews and benefits.
• Identify training needs and coordinate development opportunities.
• Support business change and communications to employees.
• Maintain accurate HR records and produce management reports.
• Collaborate on wider compliance including Health & Safety requirements.
