Job summary

Humberside Engineering Training Association (HETA) is seeking an experienced HR Manager (Senior Leadership Team) to join our on-site teams across Hull, Scunthorpe and Grimsby. You will own the HR function, report to the CEO, and influence People Strategy while handling day-to-day HR operations.

You’ll lead recruitment, policy development, employee relations, and workforce insights for SLT meetings. This role requires CIPD Level 5 experience, strong HR generalist skills and a pragmatic, hands-on

Qualifications

• CIPD level 5 qualification or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Firm, fair, and focused HR professional.
• Experience designing and implementing new HR policies and procedures.
• Hands on management of HR casework and advising/educating managers.
• Experience of managing recruitment in-house, utilising creative sourcing methods to reduce agency spend and engage quality candidates directly.
• Comfortable presenting and developing workforce insights for SLT meetings as well as handling day-to-day HR admin.
• IT literate with an inquisitive approach to using AI and digital HR tools.
• Commercially minded – workforce planning knowledge is a bonus.
• High emotional intelligence, self-motivated with a good sense of humour.
• Clean driving licence for travel to our sites.

Responsibilities

• Executive Strategy - Sit on the SLT and shape a practical People Strategy.
• Direct Talent Acquisition - Draft adverts, manage agency partners, build pipelines, optimise costs.
• Employee Relations - Implement policies and manage HR casework.
• Operations & Policy - Update handbooks, policies, training budget, and maintain presence across Hull, Scunthorpe, and Grimsby.
