Job summary

Brook Street is seeking a Senior Housing Support Officer to manage temporary accommodation across Medway and SE London, guiding residents toward stable housing and improved wellbeing. You will assess needs, create tailored plans, and coordinate with authorities to secure housing, health, and welfare support.

The role offers progression into people management, supervision of Housing Support Workers, and a chance to shape evolving services within a growing organisation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within housing, supported housing, homelessness, temporary accommodation, tenancy sustainment, or support services.
• Experience working with local authority commissioned services and housing departments.
• Knowledge of homelessness pathways, housing support services, and relevant legislation.
• Experience supporting vulnerable adults with complex needs.
• Strong safeguarding, risk assessment, and support planning experience.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently.
• Experience carrying out property visits, welfare checks, and tenancy-related interventions.
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of temporary accommodation properties.
• Completing needs assessments, support plans, and risk assessments.
• Conducting regular welfare visits and property inspections.
• Supporting residents to access housing, health, welfare, employment, and community services.
• Working collaboratively with local authorities and referral agencies.
• Managing safeguarding concerns and promoting resident wellbeing.
• Supporting residents to maintain accommodation and develop independent living skills.
• Maintaining accurate records and reports.
• Contributing to service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Supporting the future growth and leadership of the support team.
