Job summary

Salford City Council is seeking a Principal Manager, Housing Options to lead the Housing Options service, prevent homelessness and deliver high-quality housing advice and support across Salford.

You will report to the Head of Housing Options, oversee day-to-day delivery, and build strong partnerships with health, social care, and voluntary sector organisations to improve outcomes for vulnerable residents.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Housing Options teams to deliver excellent customer-focused services.
• Ensure statutory homelessness duties are delivered effectively, consistently and in line with legislation and best practice.
• Drive service improvement, performance and innovation across all areas of Housing Options.
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships across housing, health, social care, voluntary sector organisations and other key stakeholders.
• Identify new approaches, funding opportunities and housing solutions that improve outcomes for residents.
• Lead, coach and develop staff, creating a culture where colleagues feel valued, empowered and able to perform at their best.
• Support the Head of Housing Options in shaping future service delivery and responding to emerging challenges and opportunities.
• Represent the service on local, regional and national forums.
