Job summary

Hackney Council in London is seeking a Senior Technical Licensing Officer to lead and support the Private Sector Housing Licensing Service. You will oversee processing applications, provide technical guidance to officers, landlords and residents, and help ensure schemes comply with legislation.

The role reports to the Team Manager (Licensing Processing), requires experience with HMO and Selective Licensing, and a strong track record in regulatory environments.

Qualifications

• Experience processing housing licensing applications, including HMO and Selective Licensing.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day management of the Licensing Processing Team.
• Provide technical oversight and supervision to Licensing Technical Officers.
• Oversee the processing and issuing of HMO and Selective Licensing applications.
• Provide technical advice to officers, landlords, managing agents, tenants and residents.
• Monitor workloads, performance and service standards across the team.
• Support continuous improvement, system development and process efficiencies.
• Ensure licensing applications are processed accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Depose for the Team Manager when required.
