Job summary

NCIC is seeking a part-time Domestic Housekeeping Supervisor to lead a team across Cockermouth and adjacent sites, covering shifts 1pm-8pm with 2 weekends out of 3. You will oversee cleanliness, in-house catering, and adherence to Trust policies, ensuring high safety and quality standards for staff, patients and visitors.

The role requires COSHH, HACCP, and health & safety certificates, plus supervisory experience in a healthcare setting. A commitment to Trust values and diversity is essential.

Qualifications

• Diplomacy and customer service oriented approach.
• COSHH, HACCP and Health & Safety knowledge required.
• Experience supervising a team in a busy environment is essential.
• Experience with IT systems and hospital/healthcare software is preferred.
• Domestic housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
• Knowledge of hospital operations and patient care requirements is beneficial.
• Familiarity with infection prevention policies is important.
• Demonstrated ability to manage staff and resolve issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of housekeeping staff across sites.
• Ensure cleanliness and catering standards meet Trust requirements.
• Train and develop new and existing staff.
• Manage staffing levels and timesheets; monitor sickness records.
• Adhere to infection prevention and health and safety policies.
• Maintain safe working environment and equipment checks.
• Support Trust values and promote equality and diversity.
• Prepare for following shifts and ensure smooth handovers.
