Job summary

Willow Vale School in Taunton is recruiting a permanent Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work across its multi-site provision. The role focuses on planning, leading and delivering a subject under a teacher's direction, with interventions and smooth transitions for pupils.

This post is term time only (37 hours/week over 39 weeks). Experience as an HLTA and strong communication, literacy and ICT skills are essential. Right to work in the UK and safeguarding training are required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Understanding of how children and young people learn.
• Building positive relationships with students, staff and families.
• Good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead and deliver a subject under the direction of a teacher.
• Support interventions and transitions for pupils.
• Work across the school's sites and in mainstream schools.
