Job summary

Ark St Alban's Academy is seeking a dedicated Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to provide specialist support and targeted interventions, helping students progress and reach their potential.

You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pupils, deliver small-group sessions, support SEND/EAL learners, and contribute to IEPs and assessment, within an inclusive and supportive learning environment. This role offers ongoing professional development and a collaborative team committed to high standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified to degree level.
• Math's and English GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a teaching assistant or equivalent within the last 5 years.
• Completion of HLTA training or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Plans and deliver structured small-group interventions under teacher guidance
• Adapts resources and supports SEND/EAL pupils more independently
• Support pupil learning through targeted interventions and learning programmes, promoting high expectations, independence and confidence
• Work with the SENCO and teachers to assess pupil needs and contribute to, implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Plan and deliver 1:1 and small-group intervention sessions to support pupil progress
