Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Senior Highways Technician to support infrastructure and highways projects on a contract basis in Greater London. The role involves producing detailed highway drawings and documentation for Section 278 and Section 38 works to deliver safe, compliant transport infrastructure.

You will coordinate with engineers, planners, contractors and local authorities, review design information for accuracy, and help prepare technical reports and submissions.

Qualifications

• Experience in highways design and infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of Section 278 and Section 38 agreements.
• Proficiency in producing highway drawings and technical design information.
• Knowledge of relevant highway design standards, regulations and specifications.
• Strong technical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with multiple project stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a wider engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed highway design drawings and technical documentation.
• Supporting the delivery of Section 278 and Section 38 highway improvement schemes.
• Developing infrastructure layouts in line with relevant highways standards and specifications.
• Co-ordinating with engineers, planners, contractors and local authority stakeholders.
• Reviewing design information and ensuring technical accuracy throughout project delivery.
• Assisting with the preparation of technical reports, construction information and approval submissions.
• Identifying design issues and contributing to effective engineering solutions.
