Job summary

Lancashire County Council is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join its Engineering Team on an initial 6 month contract. This role provides exposure to a broad portfolio of civil engineering projects across highways and infrastructure, with a strong likelihood of extension based on workload.

You will manage schemes from design through construction, undertake site inspections, coordinate design work, liaise with contractors and contribute to delivering public realm and highways

A Local Authority in Lancashire is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join its Engineering Team on an initial 6 month contract. This opportunity has arisen due to a long-term absence, with a strong likelihood of extension based on ongoing project demands.

The role is offering exposure to a broad portfolio of civil engineering projects rather than a narrow specialist focus.

The Role

You will play a key role in the delivery of a range of engineering schemes across the borough, managing projects through various stages from design and feasibility through to construction and completion.

The successful candidate will be involved in project management, design coordination, site inspections, contractor liaison, and the successful delivery of infrastructure improvements.

About You

• A broad civil engineering background
• Experience working on highways and infrastructure projects

• The ability to undertake site visits and inspections
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously
