Job summary

Ringway Jacobs in Brentwood seeks a Development Management Engineer to provide technical assurance of developer-designed highway schemes and ensure adoption of works by the Highway Authority.

You will review designs, manage planning conditions and obligations, and liaise with developers, consultants and local authorities to deliver highway projects on public expense.

Strong knowledge of highways legislation and CDM regulations is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in highways engineering or relevant experience.
• Experience managing design and implementation of highway elements in major developments.
• Knowledge of statutory processes for highway development and adoption.
• Familiarity with national guidance, legislation and regulations on highway design.
• Strong expertise in Highways Act 1980 and CDM Regulations 2015.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assurance of developer-designed highway schemes.
• Ensure highway works are acceptable for adoption by the Highway Authority.
• Support consultations between the Highway Authority and Local Planning Authority.
• Review and agree detailed highway designs.
• Ensure planning conditions and obligations related to highways are met.
• Chair meetings with developers, consultants and stakeholders.
• Respond to site and design queries in a timely and professional manner.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support delivery of highway works for new developments.
