Job summary

Ringway Jacobs is seeking an enthusiastic Engineer to join the Development Management team on the Essex Highways Integrated Services contract. The role focuses on leading technical assurance of developer-designed schemes, ensuring adoption of highway works and compliance with statutory requirements.

You will manage design interfaces, liaise with stakeholders, attend meetings, and keep abreast of Highway Act 1980 and CDM 2015 requirements while using MS Office tools daily.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent high‑level qualification in highways or civil engineering.
• Experience in designing and approving highway works for adoption by the Highway Authority.
• Knowledge of Highway Act 1980 and CDM 2015 and related statutory processes.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical assurance of developer‑designed highway schemes.
• Collaborate with Essex County Council and Local Planning Authority.
• Agree designs and ensure planning conditions are met.
• Attend and chair meetings; respond to site and design queries.
