Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Senior Highways Design Engineer in Salford to join the Civil Engineering team. You will deliver highway designs, drawings, and supporting documentation for the National Highways Scheme Delivery Framework, working with local and national authorities.

The role emphasizes technical excellence, collaboration with clients, and mentoring junior staff while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Member of IEng/CEng status or working towards it.
• Strong working knowledge of civil engineering design software, e.g., AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary and detailed highway designs per procedures for local and national authorities.
• Deliver technical and feasibility studies meeting client specifications.
• Assess risks, materials and costs; ensure compliance with guidelines and regulations.
• Contribute to technical excellence, provide innovative engineering solutions; mentor junior staff.
• Maintain good client relations and attend meetings; promote health and safety on site.
