PW Construction Recruitment are working with an established highways and surfacing contractor to recruit a Quantity Surveyor in Kent.

Based in Rochester, you will manage commercial and contractual aspects of a portfolio of surfacing and highways projects, ensuring profitability and commercial control. The role requires 5+ years' highways/surfacing experience and NEC/JCT contract familiarity. Salary £45,000–£55,000 DOE, permanent full-time.

Formación

• 5+ years' relevant commercial experience in highways surfacing or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of measurement, valuations, cost control, variations and final accounts.
• Experience of NEC contracts and highways frameworks is advantageous.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Preparing and managing project budgets, cost plans and CVRs.
• Monitoring project costs, margins, cash flow and commercial performance.
• Producing forecasts and assisting with final accounts.
• Preparing valuations and applications for payment.
• Managing variations, compensation events and change control.
• Administering NEC, JCT and bespoke highways contracts.
• Identifying commercial and contractual risks early.
• Procurement of subcontractors, materials and plant.
• Negotiating rates and terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Managing subcontractor accounts, payments and commercial performance.
• Working with Contracts Managers, operational teams and clients.
• Supporting value engineering to improve margins.
• Maintaining strong commercial relationships with clients and suppliers.
