Job summary

Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking dedicated Healthcare Support Workers to assist Registered Nurses and the wider MDT in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. The role involves a variety of duties across departments to improve patient experience.

You will support hygiene, nutrition and mobility, monitor vital signs, and escalate concerns promptly. Training in ECGs, Venepuncture and cannulation is included, along with helping escort patients and maintaining

Qualifications

• At least 6 months' recent NHS experience as a Healthcare Support Worker.
• Completion of the Care Certificate within an NHS setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good IT skills.
• The right to work in the UK.
• A caring, compassionate and patient-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including meeting hygiene, continence, nutrition, pressure area care and mobility needs.
• Take and record patients' vital signs and escalate changes to patient condition.
• Provide one-to-one observation for high-risk or vulnerable patients.
• Undertake training and competencies such as ECGs, Venepuncture and cannulation for the department.
• Escort patients to departments such as X-ray.
• Keep department and equipment clean, tidy and stocked.
• Train and support new and junior team members.
