Job summary

Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting Senior Healthcare Support Workers (Band 3) to join our Adult Orthopaedic Wards at Surrey Surgical Centre, based at Ashford Hospital's Elective Centre, with cross-site work at St Peter's Hospital, Chertsey. This full-time role requires flexibility to work long days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications

• 6 months NHS experience as a Healthcare Support Worker.
• Care Certificate completed within an NHS setting.
• Good communication and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing direct patient care including hygiene, continence, nutrition and mobility.
• Taking and recording vital signs and escalating changes in condition.
• Providing one-to-one observation for high-risk patients.
• Undertaking ECGs, venepuncture and cannulation training and competencies.
• Escorting patients to departments such as X-ray.
• Keeping department and equipment clean and restocked.
• Training and supporting new junior team members.
