Job summary

General Dynamics UK is seeking a Senior Hardware Systems Engineer to shape hardware aspects of C4I system solutions across defence programmes. You will contribute to requirements capture, design analysis, and hardware integration from development through to in-service support.

Join a multi-disciplinary team, deliver robust hardware solutions, and work across safety, security and ILS domains while maintaining thorough technical documentation and regular progress reviews.

Qualifications

• Broad competence in systems engineering across hardware and software interfaces.
• Experience resolving design challenges in military hardware environments.
• Understanding of networking electronics and OSI model.
• Familiarity with safety, security and ILS processes.

Responsibilities

• Support requirements elicitation, development and interface definition.
• Contribute to design analysis and trade studies for hardware solutions.
• Specify subsystems, components and cabling per standards.
• Deliver system integration and test activities.
• Produce well-structured technical documentation on schedule.
• Collaborate with safety, security and ILS and other teams to form a coherent system.
• Present progress at reviews and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
