Curtiss-Wright Corporation seeks a Senior Hardware Engineer for our Letchworth, UK team. You will drive rugged VPX-based computer and video product designs, manage obsolescence, and collaborate with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure cost-effective, reliable solutions.

You will write design documentation, conduct environmental testing, mentor juniors, and evaluate new technologies for integration. Occasional UK/international travel applies.

Qualifications

• Educated to Degree/HND level in an appropriate technical subject.
• Experience in embedded systems (VPX integration) and high-end Intel Xeon/NXP Power-PC VPX SBCs.
• Familiar with Schematic design using ORCAD/Altium or similar package.
• Familiar with PCIe interface operation and design.
• Ability to perform environmental testing to RTCA/DO-160/MIL standards.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design of rugged VPX-based computer systems or video products.
• Maintain and obsolescence-manage existing products; provide production support.
• Write formal design documentation and participate in design reviews.
• Guide junior colleagues and support production engineering in manufacturing introductions.
• Evaluate new technologies and introduce them to designs.
• Take technical ownership of allocated tasks and travel as required.

You will be responsible for implementing all aspects of the electronic design and development process, from initial concept through to the completion of sealed data packs.
