Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd is seeking a Hardware Engineer for EW and FCA programmes, primarily at Luton and Bristol. The role emphasizes ownership of hardware designs across the full lifecycle, from requirements through to customer delivery, in challenging, safety‑critical environments.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with high‑speed PCBs, FPGA/SoC and high‑speed serial interfaces, and will collaborate across multidisciplinary teams in a hybrid on‑site/remote setting.

Qualifications

• Senior/Principal/Lead Hardware Engineer experience.
• Experience with high‑speed PCBs, schematic capture and layout oversight.
• Experience with FPGA/SoC or microprocessor‑based designs and high‑speed serial interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Own hardware designs across the full lifecycle from requirements to delivery.
• Design and develop high‑performance electronics incl. PCBs and FPGA architectures.
• Translate system requirements into robust hardware solutions and lead design reviews.
• Integrate in‑house designs with COTS modules and drive debug, test and verification.
• Provide technical leadership for Principal/Lead roles and collaborate across teams.
