Job summary

Ralliant in East Kilbride, Scotland is recruiting a Hardware Architect (Hardware Staff Engineer) to provide technical leadership for embedded monitoring, protection, recording, and analytics solutions across power networks. You will own the system and hardware architecture for complex embedded products, ensuring scalable, reliable, secure designs.

You will work with Firmware, Software, Systems, Test and Product Management to define direction, conduct architecture reviews, and guide teams from

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering.
• Experience leading complex embedded hardware projects.
• Experience delivering system architectures for embedded products.
• Knowledge of mixed-signal electronics and industrial interfaces.
• Systems engineering principles and risk management.
• Leadership in cross-disciplinary decisions.
• Balancing technical and commercial factors.
• Communication and leadership skills.
• Influence without direct management.

Responsibilities

• Own the system and hardware architecture for embedded monitoring products.
• Define system-level requirements, interfaces, and strategies.
• Allocate requirements across hardware, mechanical, manufacturing, and test.
• Collaborate with Firmware and Software Architects for alignment.
• Lead architecture reviews and governance throughout the lifecycle.
• Develop platform strategies to maximise technology reuse.
• Support NPI, sustaining engineering, and obsolescence management.
